The brand was designed to make after school sound more youthful, while being flexible enough to be used in conjunction with existing after school programs. The poster was designed for customization, high visibility, and high impact in school hallways, while the commercial was designed to talk about after school programs in a new and appealing voice. Syke is a tobacco prevention campaign targeting teens in Northern Virginia’s alternative rock subculture. To establish its role within alternative rock culture, a CD was created with songs from local up-an-coming bands. The CD booklet featured band quotes sharing their thoughts about Syke and tobacco. A mailer was designed with a poster in the center for youth to get autographed by the bands and display on their walls with other band posters
