Introduction

Rescue Social Change Group’s strategy to reach the LGBT community combines messaging through direct mail, print and outdoor media with direct, real-life experiences. The Branded Bar & Club-Based Counter Advertising (BBCBCA) strategy focuses on social environments as the context, time, and site when positive tobacco attitudes are formed and smoking initiation begins. In addition, the approach directly counters tobacco industry advertising that also occurs in these social environments.
